Job Description

The Downtown Boise YMCA is seeking an Events Director to join the team. This position is responsible for administering the total operation of the department within Branch and Association parameters, overseeing the safe management of programs, facilities, volunteer and staff development, and financial development within the department. In addition to Events, this position will include oversight of Team Idaho and the Boise Y Swim Team. The Downtown Family YMCA opened its doors in 1964 and has since been a landmark in the Downtown Boise area. The facility has a full court basketball gym, a large cardio fitness center, multiple strength training systems and rooms, racquetball courts, a climbing wall, five fitness studios, three swimming pools, and multiple youth programming areas.
Schedule:
This is a full-time leadership position requiring flexibility and availability during key events. Evening and weekends will be required during these times. Pay is minimum $49,608 to midpoint $62,010 annually.

Responsibilities:
Work closely with Youth staff to ensure department operations are consistent with approved Leading Practices. Supervise staff, including hiring, onboarding, role-modeling, coaching, scheduling, and on-going development. Recruits and manages volunteers as needed per current Volunteer Policies and Guidelines. Expand existing programs and establish new programs and activities in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Respond to member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. Develop and monitor program budget to meet fiscal objectives. Manage all aspects of programming to ensure budget, quality and safety expectations are met. Work with the Marketing and Communications team to market and distribute program information. Operate in a synergistic manner with other YMCA branches and departments to increase participation through cross-promotion and education.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in youth related field or equivalent experience. Minimum three years of experience in related field. Background must include strong skills in human relations, budgeting and fiscal management, financial development, health and well-being management, and staff and volunteer management. Excellent human relations skills and an ability to maintain position communication with staff and members. Ability to address and make solid decision in emergency situations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including telephone etiquette and computer use. Prior experience of successful supervisor of staff and volunteer preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
CPR/AED. Prerequisite upon hire - 14-day compliance period. First Aid Certification. Prerequisite upon hire - 14-day compliance period. Safe Sports Certification attesting completion of training within 14-days of hire. YUSA Team Leader Certification required within 3 years.
