Job Description
Program Overview The Idaho HealthCorps (IHC) AmeriCorps program partners community members with non-profits across Idaho. These community members serve in paid volunteer positions called AmeriCorps positions. These positions offer community members the opportunity to receive support while volunteering with their favorite non-profit. The opportunity is offered each year from Sept 1- Aug 31. The IHC program focuses on health screenings, health education, and promotion of overall health. Position Description •This is a paid community service opportunity• The AmeriCorps member will serve with the Institute of Rural Health as a Health Awareness Assistant to deliver health education to children, youth, and families by educating Idaho residents on the importance nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices. By serving at the Insitute of Rural Health, the member will increase nutrition and health education and support overall health. members gain valuable professional skills and experience in education, nonprofit operations, and engagement. members do not participate in prohibited activities. members do not supplement, duplicate, or displace staff members at the Institute of Rural Health. members with this program have recurring access to vulnerable populations.
