Monika Banbel Job Summary/Basic Functions The Project Manager, Student Success Advising provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Office of Student Success Advising within the Student Success, Retention, and Graduation unit. This role drives the execution of advising initiatives that support student progression, persistence, and completion, with a focus on Exploratory and Success First student populations. The Project Manager oversees daily operations while implementing data-informed strategies aligned with divisional and institutional priorities. This position leads and develops a team of Student Success Advisors, ensuring accountability, consistency in advising practices, and the delivery of a high-quality, student-centered experience.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's required. Master's preferred. Degree in Advising, Counseling, Student Personnel Service, Higher Education Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, or in an academic discipline with relevant administrative work experience in advising and student success.
Experience:
Three years of higher education or related experience is required.

  • Departmental Leadership. Lead the Office of Student Success Advising within the Student Success, Retention, and Graduation unit. Provide direction for daily operations while developing and executing departmental goals and strategies that align with divisional priorities and support student progression and success.

  • Team Management. Manage and mentor Student Success Advisors, providing clear direction, training, coaching, and performance oversight. Ensure team performance aligns with divisional and institutional goals, holding direct reports accountable for achieving established expectations and outcomes.

  • Operational Oversight. Oversee and monitor academic advising for Exploratory, and Success First students to ensure efficient, consistent and streamlined student experience. Implement and continuously refine policies and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness and improve outcomes.

  • Collaboration and Coordination. Foster strong cross-functional partnerships with campus stakeholders to align departmental efforts with divisional and institutional priorities. Actively contribute to university-wide initiatives, ensuring coordinated execution and shared accountability for outcomes.

  • Budget Oversight and Fiscal Management. Oversee day-to-day budget management for the unit, ensuring responsible use of resources and adherence to institutional guidelines. Assist in financial planning and resource allocation, tracking expenditures and supporting decisions that enhance operational effectiveness and student success.

  • Reporting and Analysis. Provide regular reports on departmental performance, progress, and key metrics. Analyze data to inform decision-making, guide continuous improvement, and support alignment with divisional goals.
