The Staff Assistant serves as reception to Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) and coordinates their daily operations. An important part of the position is supporting the ministry and mission of the University and advancing the academic excellence and spiritual vitality of our University and students. Each employee plays an important role in the development of the Christian faith in our students.
Responsibilities:
Manage activities of the Center for Academic Excellence including, but not limited to assistance for students requesting tutoring information supervision of peer educators (writing consultants and course tutors) supervision of other CAE student employees Coordinate course tutoring, writing consulting, and academic coaching scheduling and appointments Assist CAE Director in peer educator development and training Provide support for Academic Accessibility Resources (AAR) Oversee scheduling and administration of AAR testing accommodations for exams taken in the CAE Assist CAE Director in development and implementation of policies and procedures related to academic support and student success Assist CAE Director in creation of materials, resources, and activities related to student academic success Maintain records of CAE services usage and produce visualizations of the data Maintain cleanliness and professionalism of the CAE space Other duties as assigned Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Position Requirements This is a full-time, on-site, 10-month position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Potential exists to work some evenings and weekends.

No travel is expected for this position.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Education, English, or some related field Experience with tutoring, either as a tutor or as a tutoring supervisor Supports the vision and goals of Asbury University and the Center for Academic Excellence Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail Strong ability to multi-task and handle frequent interruptions Works well in a busy office environment Shows initiative for problem solving and project management Competent in the use of technology Inviting, helpful disposition Enjoys interacting with students and faculty Knowledgeable of available resources and personnel on AU campus and surrounding area A committed and dynamic Christian faith is vital along with the ability to support the University's theological position, lifestyle standards and mission.
