Job Description
Louisiana State University in Shreveport (LSUS) seeks an accomplished, energetic, and visionary individual to serve as the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Communication and Partnerships (VCSCP). Reporting directly to the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor will provide leadership and oversight for Marketing and Communications, Red River Radio (our fleet of NPR stations, covering much of the Ark-La-Tex) and the new Center for Northwest Louisiana Regional Impact. They will also have oversight over our Center for Business and Economic Research, along with a new Small Business Development Center (SBDC) that we are preparing to launch (in partnership with the Louisiana Small Business Development Center). This individual will also have overall responsibility for the oversight of the University's Strategic Plan 2030: Piloting the Future of LSU Shreveport . The preferred starting date is July 15, 2026. Role of the VC for
Strategic Communication and Partnerships:
The VCSCP will work collaboratively with a dynamic team of senior leaders, and lead a team of strong, innovative, and collaborative professionals who are focused on the mission of the university by supporting student success and strengthening the experience of LSUS students and enhancing the role of LSUS in the broader community. The new VCSCP will be responsible for solidifying the university's outreach to the broader community. As a member of the senior leadership team, the VCSCP will serve on the Chancellor's Cabinet and exert leadership across the university and will be responsible for the following: Developing and executing a strategic plan for a new Division of Strategic Communication and Partnerships; Providing leadership and vision for the departments in the new Division Providing leadership in the evaluation and professional development of personnel in the division; Overseeing the division's budget and providing oversight for effective resource management; Fostering a culture of transparent and consistent communication with staff in the division, as well as with university partners and the broader community; Serving as the chief university spokesperson; and Performing other duties as assigned.

Louisiana State University Shreveport is a regional university within the greater Louisiana State University system, with an enrollment of more than 11,000 students (1/3 Undergraduate, 2/3 Graduate), including innovative online graduate programs. LSUS enrolls students from around the U.S. and the world, in undergraduate through doctoral level programs. Minimum Qualifications:
A Master's degree from a regionally accredited university is required; A strong record of progressively responsible and relevant university leadership experience, with a minimum of four years of experience at the level of Associate/Assistant Vice Chancellor (or the equivalent) or above; Demonstrated experience in marketing and communication, preferably in a higher education setting; An awareness of current trends in higher education and a commitment to student success; Exceptional organizational, communication (both written and oral), and interpersonal skills; Significant and successful experience in managing complex budgets, as well as supervising, developing and evaluating staff; A commitment to shared governance and a consultative leadership style.
Preferred Qualifications:
