Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Educational Coordinator to lead and enhance our educational programs at Timothy Hill. This role is integral to our mission of transforming lives through Christ's love by fostering academic excellence, personal growth, and life skills in our students. The Educational Coordinator will develop, implement, and manage educational initiatives that inspire learners, support staff, and ensure a vibrant and safe learning environment. This position serves as a key liaison between faculty, students, administration, and external educational partners. Key Responsibilities Program Coordination & Academic Leadership Coordinate and manage day-to-day operations of all educational programs, including on- and off-campus schooling, tutors, and home instructors. Design and oversee curriculum development and instructional activities aligned with program goals. Apply trauma-informed and strengths-based teaching practices to create a safe, engaging, and empowering environment. Develop academic plans for students, monitor progress, and prepare reports for Team Meetings, Board of Review, court appearances, service plan reviews, and discharge education plans. Enroll and disenroll students in local school districts or educational programs and serve as a liaison with external educational agencies. Support transitioning students in GED/HSE programs, college enrollment, and further education opportunities. Develop and oversee Timothy Hill Education Summer program. Attend school-related meetings and collaborate with all Timothy Hill departments. Student Engagement & Support Foster a culture of academic excellence, interpersonal growth, conflict resolution, communication skills, and coping strategies. Organize student engagement initiatives such as orientation programs, mentoring schemes, and extracurricular activities. Monitor program effectiveness using assessments, feedback, and data analysis to drive improvements. Staff Coordination & Program Administration Coordinate and manage education-related grants, contracts, and staffing, including tutors, volunteers, and training programs. Support faculty and staff in implementing innovative teaching methods and integrating educational technology. Mediate staff and resident issues as they arise. Ensure compliance with state requirements and Timothy Hill Education program expectations. Complete organizational tasks, filing, and other duties as assigned by the Site Director. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Teaching/Education (required). Education or training in counseling preferred. Experience working with young people in classroom or camp environments required. Minimum 5 years of experience in residential childcare preferred. At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred. Proven experience in academic program coordination or higher education administration is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and academic staff. TCI certification prior to employment. Familiarity with curriculum design, instructional strategies, and educational technology. Skills & Competencies Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. High level of integrity and ability to work with confidential information. Flexible, self-motivated, and able to follow through on tasks and projects independently. Organizational, administration, and project management skills; capable of prioritizing and delivering high-quality work on time. Ability to create promotional materials and support organizational development initiatives. Strong interpersonal and relational skills; ability to foster collaboration across departments.
