Blue Hills Regional Technical School in Canton, Massachusetts, is a vibrant public institution serving over 900 high school students and postsecondary learners. Students graduate with both a high school diploma and a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in one of 17 career and technical education programs, preparing them for college, careers, and beyond. Blue Hills seeks a mission-driven Cooperative Education & Continuing Education Coordinator to support student work-based learning experiences and build a robust evening and adult learning program. This position is responsible for placing qualified students in co-op positions, strengthening employer and industry partnerships, ensuring compliance and safety, and developing continuing education offerings that align with workforce needs.
Compensation :
Starting salary range is between $87,000 to $100,000.00 commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include health and dental insurance, paid holidays and retirement. Position follows the school year calendar, excluding school vacation weeks with some flexibility required to support employer engagement and continuing education operations.
Work Schedule :
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). The typical schedule includes longer days Monday through Thursday with flexibility between 9:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., and shorter workdays on Fridays. Specific hours may vary based on co-op supervision and continuing education responsibilities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Cooperative Education Program Leadership Coordinate all aspects of the Cooperative Education Program Recruit, screen and place eligible students in career-aligned paid work experiences Maintain compliance with all state and district requirements, including Chapter 74, DESE guidelines, labor laws, safety protocols and district policies Conduct worksite visits to ensure safety, supervision and alignment with program frameworks Develop and implement processes to monitor attendance, grading, student progress and employer evaluations Collaborate with faculty and guidance counselors to identify eligible students and ensure academic success and readiness Employer & Industry Engagement Cultivate, expand, and maintain employer partnerships to support high-quality student placements. Design and deliver employer outreach strategies—including presentations, recruitment visits, and networking events. Serve as a key point of contact for business and industry partners. Continuing Education & Adult Programming Support the development and daily operation of evening and continuing education programs. Assist with scheduling, registration, marketing, instructor hiring, and student support. Monitor enrollment interest and workforce needs to recommend program offerings and improvements. Data, Reporting & Compliance Collect, maintain, and report co-op, employer, and program data to reflect participation, progress, and outcomes. Track enrollment and program metrics for continuing education programming. Ensure accurate records, reporting, and documentation. Outreach & Communication Communicate clearly and professionally with employers, families, students, faculty, and district leadership. Market cooperative education and adult learning programs to expand access and engagement. Professional Expectations Demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning and work environment. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. Support schoolwide initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent-Director or Vocational Director, including occasional evening, weekend, or travel responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Must hold or be eligible to obtain a MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education-approved Cooperative Education (Co-op) Administrator License. Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred (education, CTE, administration, counseling or related field). Minimum 3-5 years of experience in career technical education, workforce development, cooperative education, employer relations, human resources, or related field. Strong understanding of CTE frameworks, pathways, safety requirements, and DESE guidelines preferred. Knowledge of Chapter 74 regulations, work-based learning standards and employer compliance requirements preferred. Proven ability to build and sustain employer and community partnerships. Strong written and verbal communication skills with diverse audiences. High degree of organization, initiative, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Technical proficiency with student information systems, data tracking, and Microsoft Office/Google Suite. A positive, student-centered, problem-solving approach to work Reports to :
