Position Summary This Graduate Assistant will gain experience and knowledge in Student Affairs and higher education, particularly in the following areas: event advising, planning, and execution; student organization management; and new student orientation. Under the direct supervision of an Associate Director and in collaboration with another Associate Director, the Graduate Assistant will support the operations and programming of Brother Mike's, Stonehill College's campus bar, including assisting with student staff supervision, facility oversight, and event coordination during operational hours. This role allows the Graduate Assistant to apply classroom learning through direct engagement with the Office of Student Engagement, colleagues in Student Affairs, and Stonehill students while contributing to campus programming and community-building initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Hours of Work The Office is seeking a graduate student who can commit to 30 hours a week—this includes time spent both in the office and at events. There is flexibility with scheduling, but most Thursdays from 8:00 pm-1:30 am should be available throughout the semester. Additional weekend and evening hours are required. Ideal candidates will commit to 10 months; the position may be renewed for an additional appointment based on job performance and mutual acceptance. New Student Orientation Contribute to the operation and logistics of Fall Welcome & Welcome Week. Co-coordinate with the Director in the selection process of the Orientation student Core Team and Orientation Leaders. Assist and take the lead in Spring Orientation Leader training. Begin development of the summer Orientation program, materials, and assessment. Serve as a Transfer Welcome Leader and assist in program planning initiatives.
