Jobs › Middleboro, MA › Community Systems Director State of Massachusetts Community Systems Director Middleboro, MA Apply The Department of Developmental Services (DDS), Southeast Region, is seeking a person with excellent management skills and a vast knowledge of the field of Developmental Disabilities / Intellectual Disabilities to provide leadership to the DDS Southeast Region serving persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families as the Community Systems Director. The Community Systems Director is a member of the Southeast Regional Management Team and is supervised directly by the Regional Director.
Job Responsibilities:
(The following duties and responsibilities stated are a general summary and not all inclusive) The Community Systems Director (CSD) functions as a senior level professional manager providing essential support to area and regional staff related to the provision of residential, day and support services to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. The fundamental role of the Community Systems Director is to plan, develop, coordinate and administer at the regional level, programs and activities of the department that relate to and ensure a system of responsive, high quality and cost effective community services. The CSD provides leadership around implementing agency residential, day and support policies, organizing new initiatives, guidance regarding individual cases, allocation of staff, and interviewing and hiring staff for area/regional offices. The Community Systems Director supervises the work of direct and indirect human service professionals and support staff in multiple disciplines/ departments, these include transportation, family support, children's services, learning and development, employment supports, nursing home case management, intake and eligibility, occupational, physical, and speech therapy, nursing, psychology, adaptive equipment, school to adult transition services, program development, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and housing. Work requires the application of advanced administrative techniques in directing and participating in a wide variety of residential, day and individual/ family supports and the ancillary services that augment those supports. Incumbents work with regional managers, local area level managers and a variety of private and public agencies, and other EOHHS agencies.Preferred Qualifications:
The applicant should have extensive administrative and supervisory experience in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. This includes direct senior level experience in program development, contract negotiations, risk management, resource prioritization, and individual, family and community relations. A background in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is essential in order to successfully perform the duties of theArea Director Position Schedule:
- Full-time - 37.5-hour weekly position
- Monday through Friday - Day Shift
