Position Title Director of Dual Enrollment FLSA Exempt FT/PT Full Time Hours Per Week 37.5 Work Schedule M-F Grade 19 Compensation Range $91,324-130,136 Summary The Director of Dual Enrollment is responsible for the program's overall direction and management, encompassing academic and student services, staff supervision, budget and finance, and student and college partnership relations. The director will oversee the collaborative efforts of the Office of Dual Enrollment to ensure programs are effectively operating and are in alignment with the college's strategic goals. The director assumes joint responsibility for the collection and analysis of data to assess program quality and institutional impact. This position requires an experienced educational leader with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of students, faculty, staff, and community partners. The successful candidate must possess current knowledge of best practices and emerging trends in academic advising, student development, and retention and success initiatives, as well as the ability to translate this knowledge into strategic direction for dual enrollment programs, in collaboration with college leadership and community partners. Essential Role Responsibilities
  • Oversees the operations of all HCC dual enrollment programs, including JumpStart, Middle College and dual enrollment programs (for out-of-state, out-of-county, private, and homeschooled students), collaborates on Workforce, Community and Career Education division-initiated partnerships.
  • Supervises Assistant Director and office assistant, oversees and aligns expectations for two academic coordinators.
  • Oversee the operation and strategic implementation support of college dual enrollment advisory committee.
  • Collaborates with enrollment services to provide recruitment, admission and maintenance support of academic records.
  • Partners with advising and retention operations team to provide support for early alert management, grade distribution, data maintenance and record upkeep.
  • Administers the expansion of the JumpStart program to include JumpStart college content courses, dual credit through HCC, and pathway options for both credit and noncredit programs in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Alerts and facilitates administrative units within Teaching and Learning, Student Success, and Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) Office of Post Secondary Access (OPSA) to program updates and issues as they arise.
  • Monitors current understanding of market forces, demographic changes, trends, and other factors that might influence student needs and enrollment to successfully address those challenges.
  • Collaborates with the AVPAR and
HCPSS-OPSA
on data-based decisions and implements recommendations for program changes.
  • Collaborates with PRM to design and implement recruitment strategies.
  • Supervises the office of dual enrollment office manager, assistant director, recruitment manager, and admissions counselor.
  • Develops annual program budgets and manage cost center. Attends regular off-site/virtual meetings
  • with HCPSS.
  • Administers updates and changes to the JumpStart Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and updates college policies associated with dual enrollment.
  • Implements best practices for NACEP accreditation.
  • Maintains the highest level of discretion regarding security of personal information in databases.
  • Regularly provides information as requested in a variety of formats that may include designing spreadsheets, charts, database-generated merges, reports, letters, etc., using appropriate computer software.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education Required Master's degree Experience Required
  • Master's degree required.
  • Three years of applicable administrative experience in secondary or higher education.
  • Three years of experience working with dual enrollment populations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are mandatory.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills required, including the ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to monitor several tasks concurrently.
  • Proficiency with online information storage applications, Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word Excel and Teams.
Preferred proficiency in customer relationship management and Ellucian products or other enterprise resource planning software. Minimum and Preferred Qualifications Physical Demand Summary Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Regular attendance is a requirement of this job.

Experience working on higher education initiatives relating to student access and student completion preferred.
