Blue High School Job Goal(s): Registration of students and continued maintenance of all pertinent records. The secretary/registrar is to provide clerical support within the Guidance Office to allow counselors adequate time to focus on counseling services to students in respect to career exploration and social/emotional wellbeing. Qualifications Receptionist and telephone skills Typing, filing, digital skills as necessary for the job Basic knowledge of office equipment Certifications Maine DOE Certification
  • Valid CHRC Performance Responsibilities Register new students and build tentative schedules in accordance with Mt.
Blue Regional School District policy. Request records, including LAS documents, if available, from prior schools. May conduct credit checks for freshmen and sophomores. Refers juniors and seniors to a counselor for this function, as it is vital that counselors manage students approaching graduation to help with career life planning. Screen records of new students and inform others of the records according to appropriate paperwork (i.e., appropriate counselor, administrators, special education dept. head). Immediately translate grades of transfer students to fit Mt. Blue grading scale. Information must be included for GPA calculations and determination of class standing. Help with the creation and maintenance of bulletin boards and notices for announcements. Oversee the file system of student records. Establish a system to assure security of records, and proper sign-out/in procedures for educators who are allowed access. Perform various record-keeping functions, which may include fulfilling requests for transcripts from individuals and agencies in accordance with district policies and FERPA regulations. Act as back up for answering the guidance office phone whenever the secretary is on another line or is unavailable. Perform other duties as assigned by the guidance director/ principal. Experience Experience working in a school setting prefered Working Schedule School Year (180 Days) Plus 20 days over Summer Break Travel Requirements Travel between schools or district buildings may be required at times
