Job Description
Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our Junior Varsity Baseball team for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the game, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. This seasonal position offers the opportunity to develop young talent and contribute to the overall success of the High School baseball program. Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct daily practices, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Develop game strategies and make in-game decisions to enhance team performance.
- Organize and supervise all Junior Varsity baseball games, including scheduling, transportation, and logistics.
- Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and promote a balance between academics and athletics.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and player development.
- Collaborate with the Varsity coaching staff to ensure continuity in coaching philosophy and player development.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and hard work.
- Evaluate and provide feedback to players on their performance and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all school and league policies and regulations.
- Participate in fundraising and community outreach activities to support the baseball program. Requirements
- Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level, preferably in baseball.
- Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the baseball season.
- Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive environment for all players.
- Bachelor's degree in education, sports management, or a related field preferred.
