Job Description
The Assistant Director will provide programming, one-on-one support, and resources for students representing the diversity in our world.
Early priorities include developing relationships with current students and engaging them around programs and activities that encouragesocial, academic, and professional development. In addition, we are focusing on student retention of first generation students and those whocome from regions outside of the Midwest. The salary will be determined at the time of offer. The posted pay range is Indeed-calculated. Student Support Connecting with student organizations and individual students. Developing relationships withcampus partners and learning resources. Refer students to resources as appropriate. Establish creative connections toorganizations and people outside of K College. Familiarize yourself with student support model(s). InterculturalCenter Regularly meet with student advisory and student employees to improve processes. Supervise studentworkers. Help develop mission and vision for the IC. Programming Employ a developmental approachto programming to ensure multiple educational entry points for students with different perspectives, needs, and experiences. Support student growth on local, national, and international issues. Provide programming both directly and through collaborationwith campus partners. Assessment and Learning Plan, implement, and report on annual assessment projectsdesigned to understand and improve student learning, as well as office programs, goals, and operations. Collaborate with the Officeof Institutional Research on efforts that provide reliable data and information to guide institutional planning and decisionmaking. Position Qualifications The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Higher Education, StudentAffairs, or related discipline; and will have already demonstrated success working with college students in multicultural or interculturalstudent life/affairs areas. The successful candidate will also demonstrate many, but necessarily all, of the following skills,abilities, and characteristics. An appreciation andunderstanding of, and the ability to successfully apply, student development, identity development, and strengths-based theories in workwith college students. A sense of humor.
