Geoff Henson Purpose or role of the position: Supports the Sports Information Office as it relates to home event coverage, whether it is statistics, social media, live streaming, photography and other related responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Sports Information Student Assistant is to assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information and Communications in providing the services of the Sports Information Office to coaches, student-athletes, media, visiting teams, MIAA, NCAA and Comet fans.
Those duties include:
Either gathering or assisting in the collection of statistics at home athletic events. Taking photos at events and depending on skill level for other athletic department needs. Assisting in the management of the live video stream of events whether it is operating the camera or running the streaming software. Assisting in the promotion of the teams on the athletics social media accounts Other duties as assigned. Candidates must be able to work late afternoons, nights and weekends since that is when most of the athletic events take place. Also, the number of hours worked each week may fluctuate depending on the athletic schedule.
