Job Description

Position Title:
Associate Director of Orientation & Transition Experiences.

Work Schedule:
The standard 40-hour work schedule is Monday•Friday, 8:00 am•5:00 pm; flexible work arrangements can be proposed and are subject to approval by HR and relevant supervisors; occasional evening or weekend work as need required; travel up to 5% of the work schedule, which includes local (Twin Cities metro area).

On Campus.
Salary Range:
$56,000•$63,000.
Essential Job Duties:
Oversee the cultivation of New Student Orientation programming for new first-year students. Develop, implement, and assess the annual fall New Student Orientation for incoming first-year students in concert with the Director of Student Activities. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate two student New Student Orientation Coordinators (NSOCs) through regular meetings and ongoing professional development opportunities. Curate targeted communications, summer opportunities, and developmentally-considerate resources for new students and their support circles to provide a smooth transition to the College. Co-coordinate the NSO Advisory Team, liaising with Academic Advising, Residence Life, the Dean of Students Office, and other departments on matters concerning the new student experience. Serve on the First-Year Experience team, liaising with the SOAR Program and faculty representatives on the coordination of a cohesive first-year campus experience. Coordinate the development of transfer and continuing student engagement and support opportunities. Develop, implement, and assess the fall
NSO:
Transfer Track and winter Mid-Year NSO experiences for incoming transfer students. Coordinate to the Transfer Team, liaising with Admissions, the Registrar, Academic Advising, and other departments on matters concerning the transfer student experience. Coordinate the Sophomore Thriving Team and foster meaningful experiences to support students through their second year at the College. Actively cultivate opportunities to invest in third•and fourth-year students to aid in their transition through and out of St. Olaf College in conjunction with campus partners. General responsibilities. Invest in professional development of self and team through various means. Assist in management and troubleshooting of relevant software. Actively contribute to office assessment procedures.| Support, respect, and commit to embracing diverse backgrounds, values, and points of view to build a strong and inclusive community. Complete and meet deadlines for required training and performance management cycle. Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received and Exercised:
Reports to the Director of Student Activities. This position supervises student workers.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; maintain a valid driver's license and meet St. Olaf College driver authorization criteria with a satisfactory driving record.
Experience:
2+ years of professional/graduate college student programming, leadership development, and/or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or related field of study.
Experience:
3+ years of professional/graduate experience.
Prerequisites:
Employment in this position is conditioned upon successful completion of a background check which may include: criminal background checks, reference checks, verification of work history, verification of any required academic credentials, licenses, and/or certifications, a motor vehicle check, verification of DOT certification, a credit check, employment eligibility verification, and/or a pre-employment physical.
