Job Description

Senior Administrative Assistant Office of the
Dean of Students Full-Time Primary Responsibilities:
Provides administrative support for the Dean of Students and the Associate Dean of Students Schedule appointments, meetings, and Student of Concern Team meetings Serve as the initial point of contact for the office, including meeting and greeting visitors, answering questions, providing information and resources, and answering multiple telephone lines Handle confidential and sensitive materials in compliance with FERPA and university policies Generate correspondence and reports using word processing, spreadsheets, and database software Manage Responsible Redhawks Course utilizing Vector Solutions software Assist with updating incidents in Maxient and entering judicial fines Monitoring Student Professional Development funding for the Dean of Students via the Workflow funding process Send notifications to faculty for the Dean of Students for student absences Respond to inquiries that require a working knowledge of other offices and their procedures, including the Office of Student Conduct, Center for Behavioral Health and Accessibility Services, etc. Process purchase requisitions, budget transfers, Chrome River reports in addition to monitoring departmental budgets and expenses High school diploma or GED Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to remain calm under pressure Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential interactions, documents, and information Demonstrated ability to work professionally and interact positively with students, faculty, staff, and the public Experience handling emotionally charged situations either by phone or in person Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, and email programs Demonstrated successful experience in monitoring budgets Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Evidence of the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
