Job Description

Essential Duties Assist the Director of Alumni Relations and Donor Engagement and working with the development and alumni staff through the fundraising cycle developing strategies that strengthen long-term relationships with alumni and donors. Assists with the creation of promotional materials, invitations and solicitations related to fundraising activities and events. Maintain an inventory of donor gifts/premiums for use by development staff. Ensure that staff are aware of these resources. Create, implement and direct a comprehensive and strategic stewardship plan acknowledging all supporters to the University. Remain up to date on current best practices for donor stewardship trends. Assist in preparation for the MUWAA board meetings and attend as needed. Assist in organizing alumni functions/events and attend as needed. Assist with programming to build new alumni chapters and retain and grow existing chapters and affinity groups. Work with development and alumni staff to plan and execute fundraising, alumni and cultivation events locally and out of state throughout the year and attend as needed. Events but not limited to include Homecoming, Welty Gala, Scholarship Donor Appreciation Lunch. Identify ways to enhance fundraising efforts through social media platforms and drive awareness of and attention to events and other fundraising activities. Utilize design skills for social media and other fundraising images. Manage day to day updating, maintenance, and continuity of social media outlets: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, etc. Manage the online reputation of the social media efforts by monitoring news and trends. Monitor the impact of social media by tracking metrics and analyzing effectiveness in an effort to maximize results. Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred; professional knowledge equivalent to a bachelor's degree required. Requires more than 1 year experience in a professional office environment; 3 years experience preferred Excellent writing, communication and computer skills required Proficient in Microsoft applications Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge a plus Experience working in a fast paced environment and the ability to manage multiple assignments preferred Position involves working with highly confidential information and complete discretion is required
Other Skills and Abilities:
High level skill in the use of personal computers and related software including Microsoft Office. Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge preferred. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. Ability to plan, develop and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to use independent judgement and to manage confidential information. Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports. Ability to design social media and other fundraising images. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group. Excellent telephone courtesy knowledge and experience. Knowledge of principles and techniques relevant to major gift fundraising. Creativity, curiosity, sense of humor, high energy level and enthusiasm for meeting and working with a wide range of individuals. Excellent organization skills and detail oriented.
