Full Time Position Summary:
The Director of Admissions will design, implement, and direct all admission procedures and related functions, including marketing and recruiting, assimilation of new students, and financial assistance. The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to the mission of the Divinity School and will be able to exercise discretion, initiative, and independent judgment in promoting its success. The Director will oversee the work of the Admissions Committee, the Financial Assistance Committee, and the Recruiting Strategies Team. The Director will be a member of the Executive Administration Team and will direct the work of the Assistant Director of Admissions and Student Finances.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Admissions:
o Chair the Admissions Committee, leading in the development and refinement of procedures and materials for application and admission. o Oversee all initial contact, follow up contact, and correspondence with prospective students. Provide admissions information and forms to interested prospects, follow through on the application process, and process all paperwork associated with admission procedures. o Chairs all masters-level admission interviews and coordinates DMin interviews. o Oversee the assimilation of new students, including Orientation/Matriculation and other new student events. o Lead in ensuring good enrollment for Divinity School degree programs each year.
Marketing and Recruiting:
o Chair the Recruiting Strategy Team, leading in determining best leads, methods, and marketing strategies for the Divinity School. o Oversee all marketing and recruiting efforts of the Divinity School including the development and distribution of publications, advertisements, videos, and other materials. o Direct and coordinate all recruiting activities, including planning and hosting Open House events, participating in and overseeing recruiting trips, and enlisting student and alumni assistance with recruiting. o Stay up to date on current and most effective recruiting strategies in the field of graduate theological education.
Financial Assistance:
o Chair the Financial Assistance Committee, leading in the development and implementation of best practices and strategies for the strategic use of financial assistance and scholarships. o Oversee the work of the Assistant Director of Admissions and Student Finances and the Financial Assistance Committee in determining the distribution of scholarship awards, direct aid, service grants, new student grants, and all other financial assistance.
Administration:
o Supervise the Assistant Director of Admissions and Student Finances, including setting priorities, assigning tasks, and evaluating results. o Gather data and prepare reports for the university and for accrediting agencies. o Serves on the Executive Administration Team as it develops administrative priorities, responds to changing circumstances, and fosters a strategic perspective on the work and goals of the Divinity School.
Additional Responsibilities:
o Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. o Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but not limited to; HIPAA, FERPA and other state and federal mandates. o Other job-related duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Education/Experience:
Master of Divinity or related degree from an accredited seminary or divinity school required. Significant experience in higher education admissions or related fields desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and standard methods of digital communication, including web/text/chat platforms. Proficiency in communication databases and software. Skills in using a CRM database preferred. Proficiency in utilizing/administering social media platforms. Proficiency in public speaking. Knowledge of types of financial aid and scholarship assistance available to colleges. Knowledge of guidelines and operations of admission offices. Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public. Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people. Exercise independent judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations. Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet set deadlines. Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment. Ability to solve problems and coordinate collaboration between the Divinity School and the University in admissions, registration, and financial aid. Ability to undertake frequent travel, including occasional overnight stays. Enthusiastic support of and commitment to the mission and vision of the Divinity School.
