The Registration Technician supports the operations of the Registrar's Office by maintaining and updating student academic records, managing National Student Clearinghouse submissions, generating enrollment and attendance reports, and ensuring compliance with institutional and federal regulations. This position requires a high level of accuracy, technical proficiency with student information systems, and effective communication skills. The Registration Technician also performs administrative duties and participates in special projects to support the overall mission of the office. We offer a valuable benefits package that includes the following: NC State Health Plan NC State Retirement Plan Paid Leave Paid Holidays Cafeteria Plan (IRS Code Section 125) Educational Benefits Longevity TRICARE Supplement Benefits Full-time employee benefits Duties Essential Duties— Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Participate in student registration activities, both on and off-campus; provide information and assistance to students regarding the registration process, financial aid eligibility, forms, deadlines, and requirements. Maintain, audit, and update student academic records within the Student Information System (SIS). Participate in the researching of complex problems and discrepancies in records, transcripts, and course schedules. Process complex student record changes such as academic forgiveness, transcript notations, and program modifications. Compile and distribute weekly, monthly, and term-based reports on enrollment and attendance. Analyze data to identify discrepancies or trends affecting student retention or compliance. Explain College policies and procedures relating to the office to which it is assigned to College staff, students, and/or the general public. Utilize SIS platforms (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft, Ellucian) for data entry, updates, and record retrieval. Assist in testing and implementation of system updates or enhancements. Manage all data submissions and communications with the National Student Clearinghouse, including enrollment, degree, and compliance reporting. Ensure timely and accurate submission of Clearinghouse files and resolve any data discrepancies or reporting issues. Support degree audits, graduation applications, and diploma processing. Resolve registration and enrollment issues in coordination with academic departments. Ensure adherence to FERPA and institutional policies regarding privacy and data security. Process transcript requests, grade changes, enrollment verifications, and certifications. Verify student academic standing and degree completion for official documentation. Conduct regular reviews of student records for completeness and accuracy. Identify and resolve errors or inconsistencies in academic records. Respond to difficult requests for information and act as liaison to other College departments and divisions. Compose and type routine correspondence, memoranda, and statistical reports. Maintain organized records and filing systems (physical and digital). Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, and external institutions regarding academic records. Perform special projects and assignments as needed. Assist with major office initiatives such as commencement, catalog updates, or registration events. Perform related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree or equivalent education and experience in a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in records management, preferably in a higher education setting. Proficiency with student information systems (e.g., Banner). Experience with or knowledge of National Student Clearinghouse data processes. Preferred Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience working in a Registrar's Office. Familiarity with reporting tools and basic data analysis.
