ExemptQualifications/Requirements:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in education area from regionally accredited college/university; Master's in area of education preferred. Licensed as teacher, counselor, or administrator in North Carolina. Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience at the high school level Demonstrated experience in instructional leadership, professional development or mentoring teachers preferredDuties:
Beginning Teacher Support Serves as the primary coordinator and mentor for beginning teachers Facilitates onboarding, orientation, and ongoing support for new staff Conducts regular classroom visits and provides feedback and coaching Coordinates mentor assignments and supports mentor/mentee relationships Assists beginning teachers with lesson planning, classroom management, and instructional strategies Professional Learning Communities (PLC's) Leads and supports PLC development and implementation across departments Assists teams in analyzing student data to inform instruction Supports the development and use of common formative assessments (CFAs) Ensures PLCs remain focused on student learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement Builds capacity of teacher leaders to effectively facilitate PLCs Staff Professional Development Designs, coordinates, and facilitates ongoing, job-embedded professional development Aligns professional learning to school improvement goals and instructional priorities Supports teachers in implementing research-based instructional practices Monitors effectiveness of professional development and adjusts as needed Leader in Me Implementation Provides support for the school-wide implementation of the Leader in Me framework Collaborates with staff to embed leadership principles into instruction and school culture Assists with tracking progress and ensuring fidelity of implementation Provides training and resources to staff related to leadership development Instructional Support Provides coaching and feedback to teachers to improve instructional practices Assists with curriculum implementation and alignment to standards Supports differentiation and intervention strategies within the classroom Collaborates with administration to monitor instructional effectiveness Teacher Cadet Program Co-facilitates Teacher Cadet courses and supports instruction within the program. Develops and delivers curriculum that promotes interest in the teaching profession Coordinates field experiences and partnerships related to the program School Involvement and Culture Attends and supports at least one athletic or arts event per week. Builds positive relationships with students, staff, and families Supports a positive school culture focused on student achievement and growth General Responsibilities Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at all times Communicates effectively with staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders Collaborates with administration and school leadership teams Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal Must be able to perform heavy work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of forces frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift objects.
