Job Description

Robeson Community College seeks a strategic, collaborative, and student-centered leader to serve as Vice President for Instruction /Chief Academic Officer (CAO). Reporting directly to the President, the CAO provides visionary leadership for academic programs andinstructional services, advancing excellence in teaching, learning, student success, and workforce alignment. The CAO serves on theExecutive Leadership Team and oversees academic deans, institutional planning and research, accreditation, program development, andinstitutional effectiveness initiatives. This role fosters partnerships with K-12, higher education, business, and industry while supportinginnovation in university transfer, health sciences, career and technical education, and distance learning.
Key ResponsibilitiesInclude:
Leading academic planning, assessment, and continuous program improvement Supportingaccreditation and regulatory compliance Developing articulation agreements and educational partnerships Managing Academic Affairs budgets and strategic initiatives Recruiting, developing, and supporting faculty andacademic staff Advancing enrollment, retention, and student completion efforts
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited institution in education or a related field; doctorate preferred Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in academic administration Demonstrated leadership in accreditation, institutional effectiveness, and student-centered innovation Strongcommunication, collaboration, and organizational leadership skills This is an on-site executive leadership position requiringactive engagement in campus and community activities, including occasional evenings, weekends, and travel.
SALARY:
The salary willbe determined in accordance with RCC's Salary Plan and the applicants' education and work experience.
