Yesterday Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Local Educational Agency (LEA) Representative / IEP Meeting Facilitator to join our team. This full-time position is responsible for preparing and facilitating Individualized Education Program (IEP) and evaluation meetings for middle school students. The ideal candidate will serve as the district's designated LEA representative, ensuring that meetings are compliant with state and federal special education laws (IDEA) while fostering positive, student-centered partnerships between school staff, service providers, and families. Key Responsibilities
Meeting Facilitation:
Chair and facilitate IEP, evaluation, and transition meetings in a collaborative, structured, and student-focused manner.
Pre-Meeting Preparation:
Thoroughly review student evaluations, progress data, and draft goals prior to meetings to ensure productive and structured team discussions.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all IEP paperwork, Prior Written Notices (PWN), and procedural safeguards meet New Hampshire Department of Education standards and federal IDEA timelines.
Resource Allocation:
Act as the authorized LEA representative to commit district special education resources and related services appropriate to each student's needs.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Mediate differing viewpoints, support parental participation, and communicate grade-level academic and functional expectations clearly. Qualifications
Education & Certification:
Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred) in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field. Valid New Hampshire Special Education or Educational Administration certification required (or eligible for NH certification).
Experience:
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in special education instruction, evaluation, or administration (middle school level preferred).
Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of
IDEA, NH
Special Education Rules, procedural safeguards, and special education compliance requirements.
Skills:
Excellent communication, facilitation, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills.
