The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Keeping patients moving safely and efficiently is an important part of a seamless hospital experience. As a Bed Board Associate , you'll coordinate bed assignments, support patient placement, and maintain accurate bed management information across the hospital. Your attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work calmly in a fast-paced environment will help promote timely patient throughput and satisfaction for patients, families, physicians, and clinical teams. As a Bed Board Associate, a typical day might include: Coordinating bed assignments for scheduled admissions, Emergency Department admissions, direct admissions, and transfers. Monitoring and updating the electronic bed board to maintain accurate bed availability and assignments. Communicating with nursing units to facilitate timely patient placement and support patient throughput. Completing daily and nightly census reports and preparing admission summaries and surgical admission lists. Maintaining records of bed assignments, private room requests, and future admissions or outside hospital transfers. Monitoring patient discharges and updating bed availability in the system. Supporting unit specialty requirements when assigning available beds. Responding to patient and department needs while balancing competing priorities and departmental turnaround-time goals. Handling incoming calls promptly and courteously and providing appropriate information. Maintaining the confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient information in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Some college education is preferred. Successful completion of all required orientation programs is also required. Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment are important for success in this role.
