Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, the Assistant Director of CFR is a member of The College of New Jersey's Advancement Division's development team. The incumbent is charged with developing and implementing strategies to engage institutional partners more deeply with TCNJ in direct support of The Campaign for
TCNJ:
Elevating Excellence, a six-year, $76M effort to raise funds for the future of the college. The incumbent will cultivate and manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation prospects to secure programmatic, capital, and scholarship funds. The Assistant Director of CFR will act as a liaison between the college community and outside partners to solicit foundations and companies. They will also assist with the creation and implementation of comprehensive corporate relations giving and engagement strategies across the college, including the corporate alumni program and Corporate Relations Council.
Responsibilities:
Manage a donor/prospect portfolio of 100+ foundations, corporations, and key individuals. Write and submit 25-30 effective proposals ranging from $20,000 to $100,000 to foundations and corporations for scholarship renewals, community programs, and student-facing initiatives. Build relationships by completing 50-75 strategic cultivation visits annually with corporate contacts, program officers, and individuals . Work with Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving to develop and implement an expanded corporate alumni engagement and giving strategy, including three corporate alumni events annually. Support the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations in the creation and implementation of a Corporate Partners Council. Document all activity in institutional databases. Attend and staff college-sponsored events as appropriate. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years experience in CFR or a related field. Demonstrated successful experience in development, including a strong track record in devising strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors. Experience in developing and writing proposals in support of institutional priorities. Demonstrated skill and experience in working independently in the management of a portfolio of prospects and donors, utilizing a moves management process. Demonstrated skill and experience with independent judgment and initiative. Affable, diplomatic, and experienced in managing complex internal and external relationships. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of fundraising computer database systems. Internal and external relationship management.
