Administrator The Associate Dean of Faculty Development and Strategic Initiatives is a member of the senior leadership team and works with the team to set goals and strategy across all domains of the School. This position requires oversight of all faculty-related strategic goals and initiatives, as well as significant reporting requirements of the School. Reporting requirements include oversight of AACSB annual data surveys, undergraduate and graduate external rankings and portions of the School's annual report that relate to faculty and scholarship. The Associate Dean of Faculty Development and Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for drafting the faculty-related sections of the AACSB Self Study report and mid-cycle application report. The Associate Dean will join all other members of the Stillman administrative team in participating in prospective (undergraduate and graduate) student recruiting and alumni cultivation and stewardship.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Faculty Development and Research Initiatives. Oversee execution of all strategic goals related to research and faculty development, including working with the Director of Research and the Director of Teaching and Learning. Work with department chairs to organize the timely review and renewal of faculty members as well as the approval and deployment of faculty "Practice Partners." 2. AACSB Accreditation and Internal Reporting Requirements. Primary responsibility for overseeing the School's submissions to annual AACSB surveys, including the: (1) Staff Compensation and Demographics Survey and (2) Business School Questionnaire. Will work with Department Chairs to monitor the AACSB faculty qualifications of all full- and part-time faculty. Responsible for drafting faculty and scholarship sections of the School's annual report. Responsible for drafting faculty-related sections of the AACSB Self-Study Report as well as overseeing the development of all other sections (every six years). 3. Stillman Achievement Awards, Beck Awards and Bright Idea Awards Ceremony. Manage tabulations, recordkeeping and communications for the annual Stillman Achievement Awards and Beck Researcher Awards. Will coordinate the annual Bright Idea Awards Ceremony, including creating the "Publications of NJ Business Faculty" compilation and organizing the awards ceremony. 4. Other Ranking Surveys. Will oversee Stillman's annual submissions to: (1) Poets & Quants Undergraduate Business Rankings and (2) US News and World Report graduate programs rankings. 5. Required Teaching and Scholarship. One 3-credit course (or equivalent) each semester; this includes class preparation, in-class delivery, assessment development, and grading. Maintain faculty qualifications as defined by the Stillman School for purposes of AACSB accreditation. 6. Research/Graduate Assistant (RA/GA) Oversight. Interview, hire, coordinate assignments and assist in onboarding approximately 16 graduate students/employees who work an average of 15 hours/week in support of the Stillman School's Academic Departments and Initiatives. New RA/GAs join each semester. 7. Prospective Student Recruiting and Alumni Engagement. Join all other members of the Stillman administrative team in participating in prospective (undergraduate and graduate) student recruiting and alumni cultivation and stewardship.
Required Qualifications:
PhD in a business discipline domain or a field that is closely aligned with business. Five or more years of relevant experience in an academic leadership role. Demonstrated record of active scholarship and effective teaching. Excellent leadership, problem-solving and communication skills. Knowledge of accreditation processes, with a special focus on AACSB accreditation.
