Summary:
The Program Manager 1 is responsible for the operational and financial management of the assigned Graduate Medical Education program(s). The position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of ACGME accreditation policies and procedures including new program development and accreditation. It will require a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. The PM-1 will partner with the Director, Graduate Medical Education and the Program Director(s) to help lead of the day-to-day operations of the program by understanding how all projects intersect together to ensure that the GME Department is meeting accreditation regulations and best serving learners and faculty. The SPM serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.Responsibilities:
1.Responsible for all aspects of personnel management including; interviewing and selection of staff, onboarding and training, mentoring and retention, counseling and disciplinary actions up to and including termination. 2.Develops, implements, manages and maintains operational systems and activities to ensure the GME department is in compliance with all accrediting body standards and regulations. 3.Serves as liaison with multiple levels of Nuvance Health Leadership, the Medical Education Office, Faculty, Trainees and the Community, coordinating with other departments as needed for participation accreditation site visits and activities. 4.Manages multiple priorities and projects with competing deadlines, prioritizing time, FTE and work efforts of both self and staff. 5.Reviews and monitors adherence to all Nuvance Health policies and corporate compliance procedures ensuring all processes and policies that are developed and/or maintained are aligned. 6.Works directly with the Program Director(s), faculty, and other GME stakeholders to identify professional development needs related to accreditation and education, core curriculum development and implementation 7.Provides leadership and management of large scale annual GME events, including; recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and graduation activities. 8.Works closely with Director, Graduate Medical Education and the Program Director(s)and to provide opportunities for staff development related to accreditation, continuing professional education, and ongoing process improvement 9.Oversees all aspects of the budgeting and financial management processes for the assigned Program(s) and develops models to project revenues and expenses, consistent with the strategic plans of the organization. 10.Actively liaises with the programs Accrediting body(ies) and other relevant organizations to ensure institutional and programmatic compliance with all standards 11.Builds, Updates, Audits and Maintains the Residency Management System (New Innovations) to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and support for accurateCMS IRIS
Reporting 12.Maintains contemporary professional knowledge and education and actively educates the broader GME Program Manager team to ensure ongoing professional development and continued accreditation compliance. 13.Maintain and Model Nuvance Health Values. 14.Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance. 15.Performs other duties as required.Education Skills Experience:
Bachelors Degree from a regionally accredited educational institution. Prior graduate medical education experience at the program or institutional level in a Teaching Hospital, Academic Medical Center or Other Healthcare setting for a nationally accredited GME training program. Minimum of 7 years in an Academic Healthcare Setting, with preference for larger health system settingsOr, Experience that would provide equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.PREFER:
Masters degree in Healthcare, Business, Administration, or Education.PREFER:
Knowledge of federal regulations concerning Medicare funding of GMEMinimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
- Expert knowledge of ACGME accreditation for institutions and programs Advanced MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Teams Ability to anticipate problems and negotiate solutions with peers and senior leadership and other key stakeholders. Experience with web-based data systems such as New Innovations, ERAs, ACGME WebADs, GME Track and NRMP. Excellent oral and written communication skills
