Full-Time Coordinator of University Scholarships Salary $38,000 SUMMARY The Coordinator of University Scholarships is responsible for managing all aspects of university scholarships administration, including the award process and student and university communications pertaining to scholarships. This position is responsible for facilitating the scholarship process each semester by informing current and prospective students and their families of scholarship opportunities, interacting with academic departments, responding to scholarship inquiries, institutional tuition waiver program, and conducting the scholarship awarding process. This position assists in the planning, implementation, and Logistical support for Admissions & Recruitment for special events, recruitment programming and yield activities. This position reports to the Director of Admissions and Recruitment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the administration of the scholarship management system software including making scholarship awards within the system, updating the system with new awards, and extracting data for reporting purposes. Provide oversight of the University's scholarship application process, the selection of scholarships recipients, information provided to students and families, and the scholarship' awarding process. Monitor scholarship postings and selections to ensure scholarships are awarded accurately and consistently. Assists the Director of Admissions with the identification, recruitment, and selection of merit-based scholarship recipients. Serve as University's lead scholarship advisor. Meet individually with students and families to explain and explore scholarship opportunities and other types of aid (such as Pell grants; loans, external grants). Manage communication with applicants, awardees, parents, and all other inquiries. Work in collaboration with the Director of Admissions/ CFO to forecast merit-based scholarship budget projections. Responsible for implementing University scholarship award criteria, policy, and award procedures; serves as Chair of the University Scholarship Committee, which oversees competitive waivers and petitions and appeals. Make presentations and communicates with prospective students to increase number of high achieving applicants and increase yield. Provide stewardship for departments (communicate system process, award status, answer questions, facilitate recipient thank-you letters, etc.) Manage applications, maintain scholarship files, interact with academic departments and off-site locations during the selection process, market scholarship application intonation, respond to scholarship inquiries, and verify initial and continued eligibility for various scholarships. Serve as the University's liaison with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education on state awarded scholarships. Work closely with Financial Aid and the Business Office in order to process and disburse funds in a timely manner and assist in creation of fund codes. Train and supervise student worker(s), establishing work schedules, assigning work projects, and approving time sheets. Includes training student employees on the effective use of administrative computer programs. Responsible for processing sensitive and confidential information. Must have an understanding of FERPA regulations, and able to apply the precepts to a wide variety of circumstances.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3-5 years of experience. Attention to detail and strong ability to work independently. Ability to multi-task under time-sensitive deadlines with minimal supervision. Strong computer skills using MS Word and Excel and good quantitative skills. Ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to work both collaboratively and independently. Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience with advisement and scholarship management.
