Job Description

Hours:
Part-time, non-exempt position of 25 hours per week. Hours are generally between 3 pm and 8:30 pm M-F, and some weekend day hours will be required. This position is a ten-month position from mid-August through mid-June.
Wage :
$18.20/hr.
Supervision:
The Athletics Coordinator reports to the Director of Athletics (AD)
Position Description:
The Athletics Coordinator for the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis will support the administrative duties of the athletic department to align with our mission of providing a safe, comprehensive, equitable, and fun sporting environment for all involved. They will also represent the AD to staff, parents, members, spectators, and officials during program times when the AD is not available. Major Duties and Responsibilities Support the Athletic Director in administrative duties that ensure an organized, coordinated, and high-quality youth sports program; Represent the Athletics department to parents, members, spectators, and officials during all program times when the AD is not available. Supervise all Athletics staff when the AD is not available. In conjunction with the AD, ensure that all facilities where home games are played are supervised and maintained per school or BGCC expectations. In conjunction with the AD, ensure that Athletics staff are following check-in and check-out procedures. Maintaining equipment and keeping an accurate inventory, including distribution and collection in relation to each sport season. Assisting in the ordering, sizing, and distribution of team and department uniforms. Responsible for all maintenance and updates for the athletic website including, but not limited to, updates for each sport in and out of season. Work with Front Office Staff to send athletic mass emails to members and non-members. Work in collaboration with Front Office Manager to ensure staff can answer programming questions Assist the Athletic Director in scheduling officials and gym/field supervisors Assist and execute decisions regarding games' status, officials, and/or issues of immediate attention in the absence of the Athletic Director. Assist with organizing and orchestrating of all games to include facilities coordination, officials, scoreboard/clock and scorekeeping and be able to execute decisions regarding game status in the absence of the Athletic Director Verify and maintain all rosters and appropriate forms for each team, each season. Work with volunteer coordinator in keeping various qualifications for each coach including; CPR, First Aid, Concussion Management classes and background checks. Maintain up to date game and practice schedules, as needed Organize and supervise team picture days/night to ensure quality photos that will be given to sponsors and coaches.
Qualifications:
Strong Project management skills
  • with proven ability to manage details, and follow through on work tasks Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, experience with WordPress or other web design software Knowledge of scheduling
  • sports, or other related scheduling experience Strong interpersonal skills
  • with experience in conflict resolution related to youth sports such as parent escalations.
Excellent judgment is required to succeed in the coordinator position. Knowledge of Sports a plus, but not a requirement of this position Strong desire to learn and grow in a dynamic and fast-paced environment Desire to work with school age youth to model integrity, good character and sportsmanship Coaching and /or officiating experience preferred Must be CPR and 1st Aid certified, or obtain the certification within 45 days To apply: Submit a cover letter, one letter of recommendation, and a Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis job application found on www.bgccorvallis.org/careers.
