Summary The Directr f Virtual Educatin leads, develps, and manages the district's virtual and nline learning initiatives. This rle ensures high-quality digital learning experiences fr students, versees curriculum develpment, ensures cmpliance with state and federal guidelines, and prvides leadership fr instructinal staff in nline envirnments. The directr cllabrates with district leaders, educatrs, families, and cmmunity partners t expand access t virtual educatin pprtunities. Essential Duties and Respnsibilities Lead the develpment, implementatin, and review f the nline learning and instructinal innvatin plan and ensure its alignment with the Allentwn Sch l District (ASD) Strategic Plan. versee nline scheduling, enrllment, plicies, prcedures, and practices in cllabratin with ASD leadership, faculty, and ther pertinent stakeh lders. Directs, crdinates, and supervises the administratin f all virtual prgrams t include all certified, prfessinal, and supprt staff, assigning curses and students; assessing teacher perfrmance; prviding teacher prfessinal develpment and c aching; and leading teacher recruitment. Crdinate and implement instructinal design prjects frm inceptin t cmpleti n. Ensure nline learning and prgramming meet standards set by state and federal regulatins (e.g., FERPA, ADA) and FCC plicies and pr cedures. Serve as a subject matter expert in the best practices in the design, develpment, and delivery f large-scale nline educatinal pr gramming, teaching, and learning. versee and mnitr cmpliance with the vendr cntract fr the Virtual Campus pr gram. Ensure cmpliance with licensing and cpyright laws and regulati ns. Crdinates virtual prgramming by prviding a student rientatin, nging success caching, prviding graduatin checks t high schl students, and leading student recruitment eff rts. Facilitates district and state assessments fr virtual and alternative pr gram students Cllabrate with ASD leadership and internal stakehlders t manage the hiring, training, and mentring f faculty/staff, reslve nline student cmplaints, and ensure that faculty and student nline supprt functins are aligned t prm te student success. Prvide faculty training and prfessinal develpment that develps faculty instructinal technlgy cmpetence, supprts best practices in instructinal design, develpment, and delivery, and prmtes instructinal innvatin in the use f learning technlgies that enhance teaching and learning in nline, hybrid, and web-enhanced instructi n. Cllabrates with the ffice f Learning and Teaching t assure learning prgrams delivered virtually meet the same standards as ther educatin prgrams (learning bjectives, identificatin f cmpetencies, perf rmance measures, etc.). Cllabrate with vendrs t identify and prvide quality learning pp rtunities. Cllabrate with Infrmatin Technlgy leadership and internal stakehlders t ensure the effective nline learning delivery thrugh the LMS and the prper management and currency f the LMS, related s ftware, and equipment. Hire, supervise, c rdinate, and evaluate ASD staff. Establishes and maintains relatinships with clleges, cmmunity rganizatins, and ther schls t crdinate educati nal services. Wrks cllabratively with the Executive Directr f Grants Develpment and ther administratrs t ensure that Title I funds, schl imprvement funds, and ther grants r funding surces are linked t the strategic plan and the data reflecting student achievement needs that are used t infrm cntinuus instructinal impr vement.
