The 3rd Shift Housing Director oversee all aspects of on campus housing for students and responsible for maintaining the safety and security of all residential students in each residence halls. Enforces the Housing Policy, Student Code of Conduct Policy and supports the Director of Housing and Operations and overall vision of the residence life program. The incumbent must actively engage in the residence hall communities by attending hall programs and regularly touring the residence halls.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
Serves as first point of contact for issues/concerns affecting students in the residence halls. Oversees the health and safety of all residential students. Actively engage in all residence halls by attending hall programs, hourly tours of all residence halls and interacting with students. Develop timely and appropriate communication strategies to students living within the residence halls. Serve as a mediator/facilitator when necessary to provide resolutions for interpersonal conflicts between students. Respond/Resolve/Escalate when appropriate, to emergency situations, facility issues, concerns from students, staff and families related to the residence halls. Assist with residence halls openings, closings, and vacation breaks. Make recommendations for the purchase of furniture and equipment, planning for summer and winter renovations, and recommending improvements of housekeeping services Oversee operational functions for residence halls such as room checks, health and safety inspections, key distribution and collection, damage assessment, reporting and generation of maintenance requests. Assist the Director of Housing and Operations with long range planning including housing occupancy predictions and strategies. Daily written reporting to the Director of Housing Interaction/reporting to Academic Navigators, Counselors, Campus Police when appropriate. Provide Supervision of the Resident Advisors. Complete other duties as assigned

Handles sensitive issues and information with confidentiality and discretion. Complete other duties, as assigned, within the Operations department and university. Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and/or
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Previous experience in higher education with a thorough understanding of university operations Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to college student development Computer literacy Willingness to work flexible hours as needed Strong management organization skills Be able and willing to work collaboratively with students and staff Be able to present an outgoing enthusiastic personality
