Northern California Senior Implementation Coach, The ASPEN Partnership Print The Napa County Office of Education (NCOE) is a public agency that provides academic services and enrichment opportunities for students, teachers and the community, as well as critical business services for school districts. NCOE partners with the five public school districts in Napa County on a variety of programs and issues. NCOE also operates numerous federal and state grants including a robust AmeriCorps program and state-wide projects supporting Special Education students. PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The ASPEN Partnership is a collaboration between the California Department of Education and Napa County Office of Education (NCOE). We partner with significantly disproportionate Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) to address systemic inequities based on race and ethnicity. Our mission is to reduce disproportionate disciplinary actions, placements, and identification of students with disabilities, while improving educational outcomes.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Under the general supervision of the Project Director, the Implementation Coach provides technical assistance through a coaching model to support Local Educational Agencies (LEAs), Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) staff, and County Offices of Education (COEs) across the state. This role focuses on guiding the Continuous Improvement and Monitoring (CIM) process in order to create lasting systems change in the reduction of disproportionality and improvement of student outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in education or related field (or a bachelor's degree with significant equivalent experience).
  • Experience addressing issues of equity, preferably in relation to significant disproportionality, with public schools in California.
  • Knowledge of both general and special education, preferably in relation to educational support frameworks (i.e. Multi-Tiered System of Supports, Universal Design for Learning, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports).
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in an educational setting, ideally in an administrative or teaching role.
  • Home Office (location flexible within San Francisco Bay Area).
  • Able to work a flexible schedule and be available for frequent travel regionally and state-wide (including overnight) by air and car.
  • Able to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods.
  • California Driver's License (CDL) and NCOE driving clearance.
