Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in a related field, with five years of experience working with students and programs in higher education, or related community programs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Education and Experience Master's degree and three years experience in higher education recruitment; effective communication and leadership skills; ability to travel to partnering schools. Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Participates in the development of student recruitment and retention plans, strategies, and written materials. Visits middle schools, high schools, and colleges, speaks to groups and individual students, and meets with school counselors to promote outreach activities. Serves as a liaison to develop partnerships between the university and local school systems throughout the state. Creates a database of prospective and current students and/or potential degree candidates in the state. Distributes resource materials for student recruitment and retention programs; develops mentorship programs; analyzes trends in recruitment and retention programs; develops strategies for program evaluation. Develops operating goals and objectives for the unit; implements and administers methods and procedures to enhance operations, as appropriate to the unit. Coordinates recruitment initiatives with Interdisciplinary Studies staff and faculty. Evening availability may be required, as well as travel to on
  • and off-campus recruitment and admission events.
Responsible for transporting recruitment materials and supplies to and from events, including loading and unloading materials, and for the physical setup and breakdown of event equipment such as tables, awnings/canopies, displays, and carts containing recruitment supplies. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
