- $55,000 a year 3 hours ago Benefits Retirement plan Qualifications Bachelor's degree Working with students Full Job Description The University of Utah Office of Alumni Relations (U Alumni) is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and student focused professional for the role of Student Engagement Specialist.
Work Environment:
This role requires a balance of office-based work and in-person event facilitation. Including evening and weekend responsibilities associated with campus and Utah Athletics events. Responsibilities Under the direction of the Associate Director of Student Engagement, this position will assist in the daily operations, coordination and execution of the student engagement programs within U Alumni office, including but not limited to: Support the planning, coordination, execution, and on-site facilitation of events and programs led by the Student Alumni Board and The MUSS , including but not limited to: Student experiences at Utah Athletics events The MUSS Rewards Program (student fan loyalty initiative) SAB Traditions Keeper Program Networking and engagement events connecting students with alumni Campus spirit and philanthropy initiatives Serve as co-advisor to The MUSS Board and SAB, and serve as staff lead for select board committees In collaboration with the U Alumni Marketing Team andSAB & MUSS
Board marketing committees, assist with the promotional and engagement efforts related to student programming and events including: Event/program promotion and outreach strategies Social media content and communications Graphic and digital content coordination Build and maintain collaborative relationships with campus partners to strengthen student engagement opportunities and grow the impact of The MUSS and SAB across campus Manage budgets related to assigned events and programs Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, student affairs, or a related field One to two years of professional or student leadership experience in student programming, event planning, alumni relations, collegiate athletics, or related areas Demonstrated experience working with students in a mentorship, leadership or advisory capacity Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment- Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events Preferences Experience working with student organizations or boards, leadership programs or student engagement initiatives Familiarity with alumni engagement, student affairs, athletics administration, or higher education environments Passion for fostering school spirit, university traditions, and student involvement Type Benefited Staff Special Instructions Summary Additional Information The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems ("URS").
