Job Description:
Highlander Charter School is seeking an Academic Interventionist to provide targeted academic interventions in reading and math for students performing below grade level. Working closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and administrators, the interventionist will implement evidence-based instructional strategies, lead MTSS efforts, and use data to monitor student progress, adjust support, and ensure academic growth for all students. Responsibilities:
Deliver and progress monitor small-group academic interventions in reading and math using evidence-based instructional strategies. Establish and communicate clear, written roles & responsibilities for all faculty & staff involved in MTSS. Provide and/or coordinate MTSS-related professional learning for faculty & staff. Oversee the development, implementation, progress monitoring, documentation, and communication of schoolwide student intervention plans to key stakeholders. Administer and document screening, diagnostic, and progress monitoring assessments. Lead data team meetings to ensure students are accurately identified and matched to appropriate supports. Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Current Rhode Island elementary teacher certification Proficiency in the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy Demonstrated experience with MTSS Familiarity with data-driven instruction and intervention practices Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills Commitment to educational equity and experience working with diverse student populations, particularly students of color, multilingual learners, and students with diverse learning needs. •Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of grant funding.
