Department USD-College of Arts & Sciences Physical Location of Position (City) Vermillion Posting Text The College of Arts & Sciences is seeking a highly organized, proactive administrative professional to support academic leadership, coordinate college procedures, oversee key events, and ensure the smooth functioning of the dean's office in the management of college operations. This essential role supports both routine operations and long‑range planning across the College. This is a 12-month, full-time, hourly, benefits-eligible position.
Key Responsibilities Leadership Support:
Prepare and organize documents and materials for the Dean and Associate/Assistant Deans to complete, for instance: Curriculum & Instruction materials, Promotion & Tenure forms, and faculty annual evaluation forms; draft and edit communications for alumni outreach, prospective student recruitment, or college-wide notices.
Coordination of Procedures:
Manage internal processes, policies, timelines, and long-term calendars, such as planning regular stakeholder meetings and organizing periodic award applications; serve as liaison with university offices, such as the President's office, Academic Affairs, and academic departments. Event oversight: Lead planning and logistics for college events, including recognition ceremonies, fundraising activities, and student/faculty functions; delegate details for completion by others; hire, train, and supervise the Graduate Administrative Assistant to assist as appropriate; work in tandem with the Senior Administrative Assistant in the Dean's Office to complete daily or routine office tasks.
