Job DescriptionThe Faculty Qualifications Specialist supports institutional compliance with accreditation standards related to faculty qualifications, with a primary focus on SACSCOC Standard 6.2a. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Planning & Assessment, this role evaluates faculty credentials, interprets accreditation requirements, and supports hiring and instructional assignment decisions through consistent, accurate, and timely qualification review. This position applies independent judgment in both routine and complex cases, ensuring documentation is audit-ready and aligned with institutional and accreditation standards. The Specialist partners with academic leadership, Human Resources, and institutional stakeholders to provide guidance, maintain consistency in qualification practices, and strengthen compliance processes across the college. Hiring Range is $20.13 - $22.14 USD Hourly.
The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
Equivalent combination of education, training and relevant professional experience will be considered.
Essential Functions:

Faculty Qualification Review & Compliance Evaluates faculty qualification documentation and supports eligibility determinations through the interpretation and application of SACSCOC standards (6.2a), institutional policies, and supporting evidence. Applies independent judgment in both standard and non-standard cases to ensure compliance and defensibility. Credentialing Analysis & Decision Support Reviews transcripts, certifications, and experience-based qualifications, including alternative credentialing justifications, ensuring appropriate documentation and rationale are established. Provides analysis and recommendations to support hiring and instructional assignment decisions. Stakeholder Guidance & Collaboration Serves as a resource to Deans, Directors of Alignment, Program Team Leads, and Human Resources by providing guidance on faculty qualification requirements, documentation expectations, and compliance standards. Partners cross-functionally to support consistent and timely decision-making. Audit Readiness & Documentation Integrity Maintains accurate, complete, and audit-ready faculty qualification records in alignment with accreditation and institutional standards. Supports institutional readiness for audits, accreditation reviews, and compliance reporting activities. Data Analysis & Reporting Compiles, analyzes, and reports on faculty qualification data to support compliance monitoring, institutional reporting, and decision-making. Identifies trends, gaps, and risks to inform leadership and improve processes. Process Improvement & Standardization Contributes to the development, documentation, and refinement of faculty qualification processes to improve consistency, efficiency, and risk mitigation. Supports continuous improvement initiatives across Planning & Assessment functions. Escalation & Issue Resolution Identifies complex or unclear qualification cases and escalates to the Faculty Qualifications Manager or Director with supporting analysis and recommendations to ensure appropriate resolution. Operational Support Maintains consistent and reliable engagement to support time-sensitive hiring and instructional assignment processes, ensuring alignment with academic and operational timelines. Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and documented professional experience, as assessed under TSTC's established equivalency standards. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in higher education, compliance, credentialing, or a related field. Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures, or accreditation standards. Experience exercising independent judgment and discretion in evaluating documentation and making recommendations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field. Experience with SACSCOC accreditation standards. Experience with faculty credentialing, compliance review, or audit processes in higher education. Experience working with institutional systems such as Workday, SPOL, or similar platforms. Experience supporting process improvement or workflow optimization initiatives. Strong computer skills with database, spreadsheet, and presentation software.Skills & Abilities Policy Interpretation:
