As a charter school, we are a school of "choice," offering an inquiry-based curriculum and continuum for the International Baccalaureate Program K-12. Our mission is to "provide an invigorating, educational environment that develops responsible citizens who can artfully navigate our complex world and enjoy a good life with others." Meridian has been recognized by the US News & World Report and others as one of the best schools in Texas. Job Description Direct and manage the child nutrition operation of the district. Plan and implement programs that meet regulatory and nutritional requirements for students, promote development of sound nutritional practices, and maintain a safe and sanitary environment. Adhere to all Meridian School Local Wellness Policy guidelines. Special Knowledge/Skills Plan and implement programs meeting regulatory and nutritional requirements for students Promote development of sound nutritional practices Maintain a safe and sanitary environment Develop menus meeting established nutritional requirements for students Establish and direct process for free and reduced lunch applications following USDA and TEA guidelines Manage reimbursement processes for federal funds Direct and manage district's child nutrition program Qualifications Education/Certification Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (preferred) in: Foods and Nutrition Dietetics Hotel and Restaurant Management ServSafe Manager Certification Ability to manage budget and personnel Ability to implement policy and procedures Experience At least three years in food service management Work Environment This position will operate in a professional, non-smoking office environment, which at times can be busy with moderate noise and many unscheduled interruptions. This role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
