203 ROLEAND PURPOSE
The High School Graduation Coach is a specialized, student-centered professional dedicated to ensuring every student completes graduation requirements within four years, successfully graduating with their Cohort Year.QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification :
Bachelor's Degree requiredPreferred Experience:
High School Counseling/Advisement, Social Work Minimum three years of classroom teaching experience Requires 5+ years of experience, preferably in a school district or educational settingSPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
A commitment to the vision and core values of Connally ISD and an unwavering belief that all students can and will succeed Knowledge and experience reviewing and monitoring transcripts, grades, and high school graduation requirements with a four-year Cohort Strong organizational skills Ability to intervene with small groups of identified students around academic credits Ability to work collaboratively with campus and district staff Proficiency with CISD's student data systems and advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel and Google Sheet formulas) Strong attention to detail, the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of student records, and excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with families and school leaders Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and balance competing deadlines Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environmentMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
I.ACADEMIC INTERVENTION & TRACKING
Maintain an "On Track to Graduate" Tracker for each Cohort of students by the designated four-year graduation year with required courses to graduate, attendance, EOC completion, and CCMR status.Transcript Audits:
Conduct rigorous reviews of student transcripts to ensure alignment with Texas Education Agency (TEA) graduation requirements.Credit Recovery:
Identify students behind on credits and facilitate enrollment in summer school, night school, or online credit recovery programs (e.g., Edmentum).Attendance Monitoring:
Analyze attendance data to intervene with "chronically absent" students before they lose credit due to the 90% attendance rule.II. ASSESSMENT & STATE COMPLIANCE STAAR EOC
Success:
Coordinate support for students who have not yet passed the five required State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) End-of-Course exams. Individual Graduation Committees (IGC): Lead the IGC process for qualifying seniors, ensuring all alternative graduation requirements and projects are completed per state law.III. ATTENDANCE TRACKING
Serve on the school's Attendance Team to identify and support at-risk students Oversee the daily attendance process, including training teachers on the attendance taking process and attendance intervention procedures, and holding teachers accountable to those processes to ensure on time and accurate entry of attendance data Attend truancy court and serve as a liaison between the school district, student, family and the court system. Communicate with school personnel court-ordered requirements and follow up with the student on a regular basis to ensure complianceIV. COLLEGE, CAREER & MILITARY READINESS
(CCMR)Pathway Alignment:
Ensure students are on track to earn their chosen Endorsements (STEM, Business & Industry, Public Services, Arts & Humanities, or Multidisciplinary Studies).Outcome Tracking:
Help students meet CCMR criteria via TSIA2 scores, SAT/ACT results, Industry-Based Certifications (IBCs), or dual credit completion.V. MENTORSHIP & OUTREACH
Caseload Management:
Maintain a priority list of "at-risk" students, providing one-on-one mentoring and goal-setting sessions.Parental Engagement:
Act as the primary liaison between the school and families of struggling students, conducting home visits if necessary to re-engage "drop-out" status youth.VI. OTHER DUTIES
Applies excellent communication and interpersonal skills Communicates with principal, teachers, and staff about identified student needs and offers support as needed Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Effectively implement the behavior and academic intervention systems established by the district Continuously refine and enhance data and intervention systems to ensure optimal functionality, accuracy, and efficiencysupporting the operational excellence needed to drive student success Follow-up on all new student enrollments, re-enrollments and withdrawals to ensure immediate updates are made to Cohort data trackers Maintain highly organized, secure, and up-to-date digital data student records Deliver clear, actionable "On Track to Graduate" reports to inform strategic decisions Lead the school's Attendance Team, identifying at-risk students, and executing Attendance Intervention Plans as they relate to academic interventions Leads and leverages the collective understandings of the multidisciplinary/MTSS team to increase student outcomes.VII.
