Job Description

Randolph-Macon College invites applications for an Assistant Athletic Director to serve as a key member of the athletics leadership team providing support in the areas of strategic direction, operations, and success of the department. Reporting to the Athletic Director, this role provides leadership in NCAA compliance, athletic operations, event management, and student-athlete support while fostering collaboration across campus.

Responsibilities1. Strategic Leadership & Department OperationsServe as a senior leadership partner to the Director of Athletics.

Provide on-site administrative oversight for designated home contests.

Represent the institution on ODAC and NCAA committees, as appropriate.

Assist with the hiring process for head coaches and administrative staff.2. NCAA Compliance CoordinationManage eligibility processes and required annual reporting, including Sports Sponsorship and Demographic reports.

Oversee transfer certification and academic eligibility tracking.

Lead compliance education initiatives for coaches and staff.

Ensure adherence to sexual violence prevention requirements.

Monitor academic progress3. Athletic Operations & Team SupportMaintain accurate athletic rosters across institutional systems.

Generate and distribute athletic grade reports.

Provide oversight for assigned varsity sports programs.

Develop and manage weight room schedules.

Serve as liaison to Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Registrars Office.

Coordinate team travel, including serving as the primary contact for transportation providers.4. Game & Event ManagementServe as Tournament Director for ODAC and NCAA events, as assigned.

Represent the department at away contests and NCAA tournaments.

Provide administrative support at championship and postseason events.5. Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL)Lead department strategy related to NIL initiatives.

Ensure compliance with NCAA and institutional NIL policies.

Develop and deliver NIL education and training for student-athletes.

Partner with Advancement to cultivate NIL-related opportunities.6. Staff Supervision & Administrative ManagementOversee student-athlete programming initiatives (growth area for the department).Coordinate with Athletic Training with Sports Medicine staff.

Advise the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).Serve as an athletics representative on campus committees and with faculty/staff.

Manage outdoor athletic facilities in coordination with Physical Plant, including field maintenance and conditions.

Lead planning and execution of the departments Champions Celebration event.

QualificationsBachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred, Experience in athletic administration required.

Three years of college coaching experience preferredExperience in NCAA, Division III athletics preferredStrong organizational, leadership, communication and computer skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
