Assistant Director (Early Childhood / Montessori) - Montessori School Chantilly, Northern Virginia We are seeking a high-performing Assistant Director to join our expanding network of early childhood schools across Northern Virginia. This role is ideal for a driven leader who is passionate about education and ready to play a key role in building a thriving, high-quality school community. About the Role As the Assistant Director, you will partner closely with the Head of School to lead campus operations, drive enrollment growth, strengthen team culture, and ensure program excellence. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong execution, ownership, and the ability to balance people, program, and performance. Key Responsibilities Support and execute the strategic vision for the campus Build and sustain a positive, accountable, and high-performing school culture Ensure delivery of a consistent, high-quality Montessori program across classrooms Drive enrollment through tours, follow-ups, and community engagement Support staffing: hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management Monitor and support key school metrics including enrollment, retention, and labor Partner with families to build trust, satisfaction, and long-term relationships Ensure compliance with state licensing and operational standards Step in as acting school leader when needed What We Offer Leadership development and ongoing professional growth A strong network of school leaders and mentors Clear career progression into Head of School and regional leadership roles Competitive salary with performance-based incentives Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Tuition benefits for children enrolled within our network The opportunity to directly impact children, families, and communities Qualifications 2+ years of leadership experience in early childhood education Strong operational and organizational skills with a focus on results Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities Proven ability to lead teams and drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment High level of ownership, accountability, and decision-making ability Passion for Montessori or child-centered education Preferred Qualifications Experience as an Assistant Director, Program Director, or School Administrator Background in admissions, enrollment growth, or school operations Montessori training or certification (AMI, AMS, or MACTE-accredited) Classroom teaching experience in early childhood education Equal Opportunity Employer We are committed to building an inclusive and diverse workplace.
