General Description of Duties Franklin City Public Schools is seeking highly qualified educational leaders to join the division's Administrator Leadership Pool. This posting is designed to identify experienced and aspiring administrators who are interested in current or future leadership opportunities at both the school level and the division (central office) level. The Administrator Leadership Pool allows the division to maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates who may be considered for administrative vacancies that arise throughout the school year or during the annual staffing process. Placement in the Administrator Leadership Pool does not constitute an offer of employment but allows the division to identify and consider qualified leadership candidates as vacancies occur. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Administrative responsibilities will vary depending on the specific assignment; however, candidates should demonstrate the ability to provide effective leadership at either the school level or the division level. Instructional Leadership Provide leadership in the implementation of high-quality instructional practices that support student learning and academic achievement. Support the implementation of division curriculum aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL), and utilize student performance data to inform instructional decisions and improvement strategies. Work collaboratively with instructional staff to promote effective teaching practices and continuous improvement. Leadership and Organizational Management Assist in the planning, organization, and management of school or departmental operations. Support the development and implementation of school improvement plans and division strategic initiatives. Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning and working environment while ensuring effective scheduling, program coordination, and operational efficiency. Personnel Supervision and Evaluation Supervise and support instructional and support personnel while promoting a culture of professional growth and accountability. Assist in the recruitment, hiring, mentoring, and retention of high-quality staff. Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and evaluation of staff in accordance with division policies and procedures. Compliance and Policy Implementation Ensure compliance with Franklin City Public Schools policies, procedures, and operational expectations. Implement and support compliance with applicable Virginia Department of Education regulations and Virginia Code requirements related to public education. Assist with the implementation of policies related to student services, discipline, safety, instructional programs, and personnel management. Student Services and School Climate Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that supports student engagement and achievement. Assist with the implementation of programs that support student success, attendance, and behavioral expectations. Address student discipline matters in accordance with division policy and applicable law. Community and Stakeholder Engagement Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community members. Support open and effective communication between schools, families, and the community. Represent the school or division in meetings, professional organizations, and community events as appropriate. Operational and Fiscal Management Assist in the management of budgets, programs, and division resources. Support responsible stewardship of financial and operational resources while assisting in planning related to staffing, facilities, and program implementation. Professional Responsibilities Demonstrate professionalism, ethical leadership, and integrity in all interactions. Participate in professional development and leadership training opportunities. Support the mission, vision, and strategic goals of Franklin City Public Schools and perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee. Qualifications Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field and hold a valid Virginia Postgraduate Professional License with an Administration and Supervision endorsement issued by the Virginia Department of Education. Applicants should have a minimum of three years of successful experience in education and demonstrate leadership capacity through prior experience in instructional leadership, program coordination, or administrative support roles. Candidates should possess strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, families, and community stakeholders. Preferred candidates will demonstrate knowledge of the Virginia Standards of Learning, experience using data to support instructional improvement, and the ability to lead initiatives that support student achievement and organizational effectiveness. Salary:
Salary to be determined based on administrative assignment, qualifications, and experience in accordance with the Franklin City Public Schools administrative salary scale.
