Job Description

The Program Director reports directly to their Academic Dean or VP of Academic Affairs. The Program Director role is a full-timeposition, consisting of 50% faculty work and 50% leadership/administration responsibilities. This position requires a unique combination ofstrong leadership, technical, and interpersonal skills. The Program Director must create and maintain collaborative working relationshipswith institutional leadership, faculty, and staff and support university programs and policies consistent with regulations from federal,state, administrative, and academic entities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
MeetCACREP requirements for core faculty. Doctoral degree in Counselor Education & Supervision from an accredited institution (relatedterminal degree grandfathered by CACREP per Standards will be considered). 2 or more years of postgraduate clinicalexperience. 3-5 years of teaching experience at the graduate level, preferably in counselor education. Demonstrate abilityin the effective teaching of clinical counseling skills. Experience, background, and/or demonstrated knowledge serving on committeesin an academic setting, facilitating meetings, and coordinating student retention and the student academic life cycle; administrativeexperience preferred. Familiarity with state regulatory compliance as well as programmatic and institutional accreditationpreferred. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
2or more years of clinical supervision or educational leadership experience. Experience in curriculum and/or coursedesign/enhancement. Clear understanding of the role of the CCMMP in the SOC curriculum.
CERTIFICATIONS OR LICENSES
Hold an active, independent state counseling (or equivalent) license in good standing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel toDMU campus and Residency locations.
SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.

Requirements:
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach 3 courses in the School of Counselingeach academic year. (40% of effort) Executes strategic program leadership for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program under theDean of the Global Campus and VP of Academic Affairs / Provost, with oversight spanning the student lifecycle from enrollment (i.e., groupinterviews) to graduation (including post-graduate licensure applications). (5% of effort) Directs the student advising program,including training faculty advisors, scheduling and conducting group interviews, and leading ongoing student advisement efforts. (2% ofeffort) Assists the Dean of the Global Campus with the leadership of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, course scheduling, andperformance evaluation efforts of adjunct, part-time, and full-time faculty for the
CMHC / SOC
programs; monitors student-to-faculty ratiosand makes faculty hiring recommendations as needed. (15% of effort) Assists Dean of the Global Campus with the leadership of studentretention efforts including student onboarding, orientation, ongoing advisement, and remediation. (4% of effort) Provides overallleadership for clinical instruction and residencies for all cohorts including course design and revision, faculty guidance, and studentmanagement; attends or is virtually available for all CMHC Residencies; attends All-Faculty meetings and annual graduation ceremony. (5% ofeffort) Monitors and provides leadership and guidance regarding current and future state licensure board compliance and regulatoryreview committee. (3% of effort) Oversees and guides issues related to CMHC student behavior and professional disposition as needed.(2% of effort) Partners with the Dean of the Global Campus to ensure program design, deployment, and standards are congruent withregional (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges) and SOC or the most recent program-level CACREP (Council forAccreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) accreditation standards. (5% of effort) Assists Dean of the GlobalCampus in preparing required accreditation reports, self-studies and applications. (2% of effort) Convenes, sets the agenda, andchairs all faculty and CMHC program meetings, and promotes ongoing faculty development and remediation as needed; monitors faculty OLSparticipation and student engagement.
