We are seeking a visionary Director of Student Services to lead our district-wide efforts in behavioral health and emotional wellness. You will be the architect of our supportive systems, ensuring that every student has the social-emotional foundation necessary to thrive in the classroom and beyond. The Role The Director of Student Services provides strategic leadership, reporting directly to the Superintendent, you will oversee the systems and personnel dedicated to student well-being. Your goal is to build upon a cohesive, district-wide framework. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a high-EQ leader who understands the complex relationship between emotional regulation and academic achievement. You should be a "systems thinker" who can continue the work that has been done to ensure MVSD has a proactive, wellness-focused culture. You must be comfortable navigating high-stress situations with a calm, collaborative, and student-centered approach. Qualifications
  • Licensure:
    Must hold (or be eligible for) a valid Vermont Professional Educator's License with an appropriate endorsement.
  • Education:
    Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Experience:
    Minimum of 5 years of experience in student support services, with a proven track record of leading behavioral or mental health initiatives at the building or district level.
Expertise:
Deep knowledge of restorative justice, trauma-informed care, MTSS-B frameworks, and the developmental needs of students from Pre-K through Grade 12. Why Join MVSD?
