Basic Needs Navigator Salary:
$67,725-$73,751

Administration This position reports to: Director of Resource Center Priority consideration will be given to those who apply by April 7th, 2026. This position will remain open for a minimum of seven (7) days. This position directly supports the mission by supporting students who are facing barriers and challenges that may disrupt the attainment of their educational goals. This is accomplished by retention efforts through intervention, advocacy, sharing of quality information, and securing tangible resources to help meet their needs. Facilitate and expand hunger-free campus program Facilitate local and regional discussions and generate recommendations amongst community stakeholders on the basic needs of their respective colleges' students. Collaborate with other Benefit/Basic Needs Navigators and SBCTC to enhance community partnerships to support students and increase options for individuals to meet their basic needs. Conduct outreach, recruitment, and assessments that target low-income and food-insecure students. Maintain a robust directory of college and community resources is available, updated, and accessible to staff, faculty, and students. Collaborating with the Director, support students with SEAG and SSEH grants from intake, applications, and allocation of funding. Create a safe and non-judgmental environment where students feel comfortable expressing their concerns and difficulties, using active listening skills. Provide students with referrals for supportive services within the college and with community partners that help meet their basic needs. Conduct follow-ups as needed to ensure students' needs are met and provide additional referrals if needed. Support all students' access to Basic Food assistance and the Basic Food Employment and Training (BFET) program to support the reduction of food insecurity. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, human services, or closely related field. Two years of experience supporting diverse populations, low-income clients, populations with significant barriers to accessing resources. Demonstrated sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural, ability, and ethnic backgrounds of the students we serve and sensitivity to and knowledge and understanding of groups historically underrepresented, and groups who may have experienced discrimination. Strong experience with Microsoft Office. Experience with budgets, allocations, and grants. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in social work, human services, education, or closely related field. Prior experience working in a community college environment within Student Services or other direct student support. Experience in institutions of higher education. This is a Full -time exempt position scheduled to work Monday through Friday. The salary for this position is $67,725-$73,751 annually, which includes a generous benefits package that includes the following.
