A Program Manager steps directly into that legacy, guiding education programs that help residents understand how everyday actions affect the Root, Pike, Oak Creek, and Wind Point watersheds. The role is deeply connected to visible, inspiring work: Pollinator Patches, regenerative agriculture initiatives, invasive species removal, streambank restorations, municipal stormwater outreach, and volunteer-driven events that bring people together for a shared purpose. Coordinating volunteer days, partnering with schools and municipalities, and leading native plant programs all culminate in one powerful outcome-the opportunity to measurably improve the health of the Lake Michigan watersheds and leave a lasting ecological impact on the region. Position Overview The Watershed Education Program Manager leads the planning, coordination, and execution of Root-Pike WIN's public-facing environmental education and field initiatives. This role strengthens community understanding of watershed health, stormwater impacts, and restoration practices across southeastern Wisconsin. The Program Manager develops engaging programs, builds partnerships with municipalities and schools, and ensures that all educational activities advance Root-Pike WIN's mission to restore and protect southeastern Wisconsin's watersheds. Key Responsibilities Program Planning & Development

• Design and refine watershed education programs for residents, schools, civic groups, farmers, and municipal partners. Create annual work plans, learning objectives, and outreach events that align with watershed restoration goals and permit requirements. Coordination & Partnership Building
• Maintain strong relationships with municipalities, educators, and community groups. Coordinate collaborative events, experiential learning, and campaigns that increase public awareness of watershed issues and promote best land?management practices. Program Execution & Delivery
• Lead the implementation of educational activities, including presentations, field demonstrations, volunteer events, and digital outreach. Ensure content is accurate, accessible, and tailored to diverse audiences across the region. Communications & Outreach
• Develop educational materials such as fact sheets, social media content, videos, and stormwater messaging. Represent Root-Pike WIN at community events, municipal meetings, and school programs to elevate watershed literacy and encourage stewardship. Evaluation & Reporting
• Track program participation, outcomes, and engagement metrics. Prepare reports for grantors, municipal partners, and the Board of Directors. Use data to improve program effectiveness and demonstrate impact. Grant & Funding Support
• Assist with grant applications, sponsor outreach, and budget planning for education initiatives. Ensure programs meet grant requirements and contribute to long-term organizational sustainability. Operational Support
• Collaborate with staff on watershed restoration projects, public communications, budgeting, accounting, and organizational events.

Provide logistical support for volunteer coordination, project documentation, and community engagement activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in environmental science, education, communications, or related field; Minimum two years of experience in a related position. Experience developing and delivering environmental education programs. Strong communication, public speaking, and community engagement skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate partners, and meet deadlines. Familiarity with watershed science, stormwater management, or ecological restoration.
