This role is central to advancing a rigorous, culturally responsive academic program that ensures all students—particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds—are prepared for college, meaningful careers, and leadership in their communities. The DOI will collaborate closely with the Principal and leadership team to lead curriculum implementation, instructional coaching, and data-informed teaching practices that drive student achievement and affirm students' identities. As a key member of the leadership team, the DOI will support and develop teachers through high-impact coaching and professional learning, while building school-wide systems that promote instructional consistency, excellence, and accountability. The ideal candidate is reflective, collaborative, and deeply committed to equitable outcomes. They will help unify instructional vision across merging school communities, foster a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement, and model the values that make HFCA a dynamic, mission-driven school.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Mission & Vision Alignment Collaborates with the school leadership team to execute responsibilities in alignment with HFCA's mission to provide rigorous, equitable, and culturally responsive education to all students. Champions a school-wide culture of instructional excellence, continuous improvement, and accountability focused on high expectations, student achievement, and identity-affirming practices. Communicates with internal and external stakeholders—including families, students, and community partners—about instructional vision, academic goals, and progress. Fosters authentic relationships with faculty, students, and families rooted in trust, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to student success. Instructional Leadership & Coaching Designs, implements, and monitors rigorous, standards-aligned, and culturally affirming curriculum and instructional strategies across content areas. Leads a consistent and high-impact teacher coaching and evaluation cycle, providing actionable feedback and celebrating exemplary practice. Develops and facilitates high-quality professional development aligned to school priorities, instructional frameworks, and teacher growth areas. Partners with teachers to differentiate instruction and ensure that academic supports meet the needs of diverse learners, including multilingual learners and students with disabilities. Supports a college- and career-ready academic culture aligned with HFCA's vision of student success beyond high school. Data-Driven Practice Uses data to identify instructional strengths and gaps, inform coaching plans, and guide teachers toward measurable improvement. Oversees implementation of assessment systems and tools to regularly monitor student progress and instructional effectiveness. Analyzes student achievement data—including standardized tests, formative assessments, and classroom performance—to inform strategic academic planning. Collaborates with leadership and instructional staff to build responsive action plans that address academic disparities and accelerate learning. Organizational Leadership Participates as a key member of the school leadership team, contributing to school-wide strategy, decision-making, and progress monitoring. Maintains strong systems of accountability to ensure high-quality instruction and alignment to school-wide academic goals. Demonstrates effective time management and prioritization to focus on high-leverage actions that improve instruction and student outcomes. Engages in courageous conversations and leads with integrity, modeling HFCA's values and holding others accountable to our shared vision. Assumes additional responsibilities as needed to support the smooth operation of the school and overall student success.QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; Master's degree preferred. Active Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction teacher or administrator license or eligibility Minimum of 3 years of successful K-12 teaching experience with demonstrated student achievement. At least 1 year of experience in instructional coaching, curriculum development, or school leadership. Deep knowledge of standards-aligned instruction, assessment practices, and curriculum design. Proven ability to analyze and act on student data to improve academic outcomes. Experience in role's specific grade range curriculum and instruction preferred (teaching, coaching, leading professional development and developing coaching/improvement plans that focuses on data) Strong coaching, collaboration, and communication skills. Commitment to educational equity and culturally responsive instructional practices. Self-reflective, growth-oriented, and open to feedback. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of mobility through a large campus, and at times prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the workday. Willingness to engage with families and the broader community in meaningful, culturally respectful ways..
