Job Description
The Mercer County Commission Is Seeking Resumes For The Position Of County Clerk Of Mercer County, West Virginia. Successful Candidate Will Serve As Fiscal Officer, Recorder Of Legal Instruments, And Chief Election Authority For Mercer County. This Position Will Fill The Unexpired Term Of Current County Clerk Whose Term Ends December 31, 2028. College Degree Is Preferred. Background Check And Drug Screen Are Required. Applicant Must Have Been A Registered Republican For At Least One Year Prior To September 2026 And Be Willing To Run For Office In The May 2028 Primary Election. Resumes Will Be Accepted In The Office Of The Mercer County Commission Located On The Second Floor Of The Mercer County Courthouse Until 4:00 PM On Friday, September 25, 2026.
