Seasonal Election Clerk

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

Under supervision, follows established procedures in performing a variety of clerical functions relating to voter registration and preparing for elections; maintains record system.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND PERFORMANCE

Essential Duties:

Registers voters through mail and in person; Processes voter withdrawal; Responds to phone inquiries regarding voter registration and elections; Inputs data to computer; performs research using computer; Serves as an election judge.

Other Duties:

Performs other duties as designated.

SPECIFIC CHARACTERISTICS

Performs routine work according to established standards; prepares voter lists and records relating to work performed; works regularly with some information which is generally limited; discretion and integrity are recognized requirements for the job; responsible for equipment that is used in performing duties; position requires substantial contact with the public; hazards and discomforts are minor and controllable.
