Work schedule may be a "staggered" schedule. For example, instead of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, you might work 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM to ensure you are present hall meetings and other club advisor activities. Some weekends are required for hosting activities and special events. Position Information Posting Number 20151000P Job Posting Date 05/13/2026 Initial Review Date Open Until Filled Yes Job Summary The Residential Life Coordinator is a live-in member of the Campus Life and Housing professional staff. The coordinator assists with the day-to-day operations of the CL&H office and supervises the Resident Assistants. Charged with shaping the environment and experiences for students living in the residence halls, this role oversees services and programs which focus on learning outcomes connected to academic success, effective community engagement, and intrapersonal development. On-campus housing is provided. Reports To Director of Campus Life and Housing Education/Qualifications A bachelor's degree is required. A master's degree in Student Affairs, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Education, or a related field is strongly preferred.

Must be an energetic, innovated individual who is self-disciplined, detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of college personnel; Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; Ability to work with students, both individually and in groups. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Some weekends are required for hosting activities and special events. Must be able to climb stairs, set up equipment and other programming needs and interact with a wide variety of people. Must be able to lead trips in the wilderness. Residential requirements : Must reside on-campus in provided housing. Job Duties These are the job duties for required of the position. Percentage of time 60 Responsibility/Duty Residential Life Cultivate a positive and engaging living environment that fosters a sense of belonging and enables students to build positive relationships with one another. Maintain high visibility and availability, including attending community events, regularly touring the community, and interacting with residents. Build rapport with the residents to be able to provide personal, social, academic, and occupational support and referral. Utilize institutional data to assess and respond to student needs. Participate in departmental and divisional professional development activities. Participate in the recruitment, selection, and training of staff members for the Campus Life and Housing Office. Resident Assistants (RA) Supervise the RA Team (20-22 students) Manage RA programming budget Oversee RA duty schedule Residence Hall Association (RHA) Advise RHA Supervise RHA exec team (6 members) Manage RHA budget Communicate RHA issues to the Director as necessary Living/Learning Communities Develop and implement living/learning communities or communities of practice within the residence hall in collaboration with campus departments Percentage of time 30 Responsibility/Duty Residence Life and Housing Manage operational functions for residence halls, such as building walkthroughs, damage assessment, reporting and billing, maintenance requests, hall openings and closings, and other administrative tasks. Report, track, and follow up on maintenance issues with appropriate housekeeping staff and facilities employees. Participate in year-round duty rotation to provide support to students, working closely with the Counseling Services, Sheridan Police and other campus staff. Interpret and enforce a wide variety of College Policies and Residence Life Handbook and protocol governing student behavior. Participate in formal and informal disciplinary procedures as necessary, referring situations to supervisor, local authorities, etc. as necessary. Assist with the opening and closing of the residence halls. Percentage of time 5 Responsibility/Duty Safety and Security Administer framework necessary to ensure safety and security operations, policies, and procedures Implement corrective actions on issues in the interest of safety, security and risk reduction Assess program risk and assist in the development of appropriate strategy Recommend new policies, procedures, programs, and services for continual improvement Percentage of time 5 Responsibility/Duty Other Duties Provide administrative support to the department Participate in SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration) Assist in oversight of summer conferences assigned to the residence halls Support Title IX prevention and investigatory efforts Perform other duties as assigned
