Personal Enrichment Instructors (Part-time) 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars Hourly Rate $30.00/hour Not Eligible for Benefits These are part-time, temporary positions not eligible for benefits. Work Schedule Monday-Friday, Summer hours vary. Job Summary Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring Personal Enrichment instructors. Personal Enrichment instructors will develop and teach short-term, non-credit courses designed to inspire learning and growth for participants of all ages. These classes may focus on personal interests, hobbies, skill-building, or lifelong learning opportunities. Instructors are expected to create an engaging learning environment, prepare relevant instructional materials, and facilitate dynamic classes that reflect their unique expertise and passion.

  • Designs, prepares and delivers engaging short-term, non-credit classes in areas of personal enrichment, hobbies, or skill development, using a variety of instructional methods in indoor and/or outdoor settings while facilitating dynamic classes that reflect your unique expertise and passion. Prepares and shares instructional resources and supporting materials to enhance the learner experience. 20%
  • Assists in the development of lesson plans and selection of appropriate course materials that align with subject matter expertise. 20%
  • Provides guidance and oversight during class activities, ensuring safe and appropriate use of materials, tools, or equipment (if applicable to the course). 10%
  • Reviews and evaluates course content and delivery, recommending and implementing adjustments to improve program quality and participant engagement.
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation. Desired Qualifications Demonstrated expertise or experience in the subject area you wish to teach (e.g., through professional experience, certifications, education, or specialized training) Dependable, organized, and comfortable facilitating a class or workshop independently Experience teaching recreational/personal enrichment classes Experience teaching writing, reading, listening, and speaking to large groups/classrooms Experience using computer software/applications (Microsoft Office, LMS (Canvas)) Experience communicating effectively and engaging learners in a community setting How to Apply The applicant is required to submit a: Resume clearly illustrating how prior experience, knowledge, and education meet the minimum and desired qualifications for this position.
